Our Garden 2022

🌸Flowers 2022, including our first 🌻sunflower!!! There are big holes in our flower beds as we reroute the flowers in our front yard, but still pretty. In December, 4 🏡homes in our circle trimmed and removed 🌳🌳shade and 🌳ornamental trees, which changed EVERYTHING and took parts of my yard from partial shade to ☀️full sun. I push zones and shade and sun, and it erased that into ☀️BLAZING SUN☀️ all day!

Enter the “🌸Great Flower Reroute🌸” to try and save the 🌸blooms and reroute them to other areas of the yard, where 🌸they can thrive with the ☀️🌳 tree change. Gone was my “🌸🏡hydrangea house” dream in the front yard, but the possibilities it opened up began to grow exponentially!!! The flowers will look good by 2025 too!!🤷🏼‍♀️

I thought the front yard would be our “big project” in 2022 and fixing the stairs in the back.

The whole fruit tree guild projectsssssss took over BY far and I couldn’t be happier! Some fabulous books I bought back in Cali, some new treasures I have been reading, along with TONS of research, have really flipped the switch and made me reevaluate what I want to spend my time on and what is truly worthwhile in gardening!

What do I want my 🏡home and 🌸🍒🫒🧄🥬gardens to look like in 3, 5, 10 years? What about retirement gardening? Why not live out your passions and your dreams and reroute what could have been, into something new and beautiful and USEFUL! Most food is picked early from dead soil (yes, even organic) and shipped and FLAVORLESS and dead tasting, I am done with gross food. I literally walk into a store and want to walk out these days – the food is subpar. And yes, I miss EarthFare and the JoBo and Abingdon Farmers Markets. The variety rocked! Loved the people too! Alas! Life moves on.

Anyhow, what can I do to have beautiful food I love, life giving, nutrient dense food? How can I ensure the BEST nutrition for my family? And if I hate it or fail, I can always start all over again! Life has a way of changing – just like the sunlight on our property and we need to flex with it!

Anyhow – these are my blooms, thoughts and gardening obsessions!
